Television

Cormac's love of music for Television started at a young age. Composer's like Mike Post, Ian Freebairn-Smith, Randy Edleman and Thomas Chase were highly influential: Their music was fun, exciting and melodic.

Cormac has had the unique experience of writing music for the television show, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, since 2008 where he gets to do a wide variety of cues: from Blockbuster Film action scores like Michael Kamen to delightful little melodies like Marvin Hamlisch as well as Musical Theater. Cormac has written music and lyrics for Nightman Cometh, Franks Little Beauties and Dee Reynolds, Shaping America's Youth, Old Lady House: A Situation Comedy to name a few.

I serve as the composer for the hit Television Show, The Cool Kids on Fox. I compose the score as well as the show’s Theme Song.

The show premiered Friday, September 28, 2018 at 8:30pm EST to favorable reviews. The show follows a “rough around the edges” group of friends living in a retirement community in Phoenix, AZ who have no problems breaking rules and having fun.

The Cool Kids stars David Alan Grier, Vicki Lawrence, Martin Mull and Leslie Jordan. It also features some incredible supporting actors such as Jamie Farr, Julia Duffy and Charles Shaughnessy.

I served as the composer for the Television Show, Overthinking with Kat & June. I composed score as well as the theme for the show.

The show premiered December 18, 2018 to excellent reviews (below). The show is described as “the birth of a strange but beautiful female friendship, the hopes, dreams and fears — but mostly fears — of the duo are heard out loud.”

It stars Tenea Intriago and Alexia Dox as Kat and June, with Justin Kirk, Sasheer Zamata and Constance Marie.

An occasionally surreal blend of laugh-out-loud comedy and absolute cringe. From Kat and June’s frequent fantasizing about their older landlord David to the former’s attempts to prepare the latter for a first date with the help of the twins Tessa and Molly, Overthinking can sometimes emphasize the “over” in its title. The thing is, it works so beautifully for this show and the kind of comedy it’s trying to accomplish.
— Andrew Husband, Metro US
Stream it. Absolutely stream it. Overthinking with Kat & June is not only a fresh take on the awkwardness of adult friendship but it’s also a ton of fun... Overthinking with Kat & June is an absurdly funny comedy not to be missed.

Season 12: "Old Lady House: A Situation Comedy"

I wrote and produced the music for the theme song for this episode in an episode. They used it in the promos as well (featured).

SYNOPSIS:
Charlie thinks Mac's mom is holding his mom hostage so the gang installs spy cameras in their house to monitor what's going on. What they end up discovering is the moms are quite entertaining once Dennis makes some quick edits and adds a laugh track to the surveillance footage.

Season 9: "The Gang Saves the Day"

In this episode, the gang gets caught in the back of a market during a robbery and we see each of their day dreams. "Covington House" is a sitcom parody for Dee's daydream, where she imagines being placed by witness protection as a butler for a rich and handsome man.

I wrote the lyrics, music and I played all the instruments as well sang all the vocals.

Season 9: "The Gang Makes Lethal Weapon 6"

The episode titles says it all - the gang makes their own version of the "Lethal Weapon" films. They wanted an authentic score similar to Michael Karman's Lethal Weapon scores which include emulating the featured solos of Eric Clapton's guitar and David Sanborn's saxophone.

Season 4: "The Nightman Cometh"

Charlie stages a musical based on his song "The Nightman", and recruits the rest of the gang to help him stage it. The popularity of the infamous episode spawned a 6 city National tour with the cast, which I musically directed, Conducted and Emceed.

I co-wrote the music with Charlie Day. Directed by Matt Shakman, we rehearsed and performed the musical live and uninterrupted.
